Weaving History and Heart; Writing Saga Historical Romance : is a lively discussion between award-winning saga and regency romance author Seána Tiinley and comedy writer Val Troy, exploring the enduring power of women's stories in commercial fiction. Tinley discusses her latest novel, The Irish Midwife, and shares how she blends rich historical research with themes of love, loss, and legacy to create narratives filled with resilient women, family secrets and forbidden romances. The conversation delves into the influence of her Irish heritage in her novel and the overlap between her former career as a midwifery services manager and her fiction. They also address the broader issue of "genre snobbery" toward romance and women's fiction.
